As a part of my course in animation I was challenged to make an explainer video about any topic to test my 2d and 3d animation skills. I take a lot of intrest in astrology so the video was quickly born.
The animation was created from scratch. I wrote the script, did the storyboard and used text to speech for the voice-over. I made the 3D elements in blender and used illustrator for the 2D assets.

Partnered with beginning musicians and beginning animators, Intrada was made based off of the music piece by Tonny Eck. Three student animators - including myself- wrote down the story of a little boy exploring his own fantasy world. The animation uses the music as a guideline for timing.
This three part animation was done by Marissa, Esmeralda and myself. The 2D animation was my contribution to this project. Also the communication with the client was my task during the project. It took 1 month to complete.

As a first practice with animation principles, we were assigned to animate an embarrassing moment in our lives using adobe after effects. Since I already had some experience with after effects I decided to try out new tools like the bend and puppet tool to animate characters. I focussed mainly on the timing and expression to get the story across than the animation quality.
Before I started the animation I made a small story board in Clip Studio Paint to get the main frames and composition of the animation right. After that I illustrated all the components in Illustrator and made the animation using adobe after effects. The pictures below show an example of the story board

In my gap year I decided to work on my 2D cell animation skills and thought of a music video concept for Halsey's Control. The story is about a character struggling with mental health and tries fighting inner demons. For this project I worked out a first basic storyboard to get the story across, I also designed some characters that would fit in this world.
I made the story based on my interpretation of the Halsey song. I wrote down a script and made the story board. All characters and assets I made using Clip studio Paint.

The video above explains in 45 seconds what Hallo Buurtvervoer is. The video was used for a pitch in a competition. The video was made in two working days since it was a very short notice to get the video uploaded for the pitch. The elements that are used are from previous design for Buurtvervoer like the website and flyers. The transitions and animations are kept simple to save time but keep a great result for the client.
My role in this project was the role of illustrator, animator and designer.

The animation video explains what Digitale Buddy does and is aimed at investors rather than participants. We made sure the language used was understandable for participants of Digitale Buddy. The animation contains a simplified version of the system, to show how the system works.
The client wanted a video to explain the working of the digital buddy system to potential buyers and users. I developed a simple illustration style to get the story across and used the digital buddy branding style throughout the animation. Since I also designed the basics of the User Interface, I had a clear understanding as of how to tell the client the benefits of the product.

In the video below I show a visualization of data of the fires in Australia. The data-visualization is supposed to be an interactive visualization. The artstyle that is used in the video is inspired by Thomas Rohlfs. I needed a style to experiment frame by frame animation with. The Video was animated in two weeks.
My role during this project was the role of illustrator and animator. All assets were drawn and animated by myself.

Goeie Kaarten is a visualization (literally) of a poem called Goeie Kaarten. The poem is about what happens to you when you die after you have lived a 'good' life. The animation was made with Clip Studio Paint and after effects. The animation needed to include 3D layers. I used my own illustration style to visualize the poem in animation. The animation was made in two weeks.
Goeie Kaarten was my first animation in after effects. All assets were made in Clip studio paint in my own drawing style. The voice over was done by Stan Stuivenberg.

During my first internship at weMaron I was asked to make multiple animations for their product Bob de Bot. Bob de Bot is an automated chatbot that sends its users activities in their surroundings, based on their interests. Bob de Bot wants to prevent loneliness in elderly people this way. To show exactly what Bob de Bot does, I was asked to make an animation video showing the problem loneliness and how Bob de Bot prevents it.
During this project I had the role of freelance designer talking to my client (my internship company). Every iteration I made sure to ask for client feedback and adjust the storyboard and script as wished.

The Hallo Vriend animation shows how Hallo Vriend works by telling a story about characters that have their own lives but stay connected through Hallo Vriend. Hallo Vriend sends volunteers questions and tasks they can volunteer for, but bases them off of their interests.
I was the illustrator and animator during this project

Murder mystery is an animation that promotes a self made app. The app uses functions in the real world. The app gives the user storylines they can play when they scan a QR-code in the bus. With AR, the user can play the story and look around to solve a murder mystery. the idea of the app is that users are never bored in the bus and have something to play. The animation needs to explain this concept.
Murder Mystery was part of one of my projects at HAN university of applied sciences. It was a way to promote and explain your game idea. I used my own illustration style for this animation and used Clip Studio Paint, adobe animate and adobe after effects to make the animation.

During a school project we made a 20 minute educational video for children between 12 - 15 years old about sleep. The name of our educational series was Brainfreeze, which aimed at making a series of video's about the brain. The first episode covered the topic sleep. The videos above show two animations I made for the video.
The video production was made with five students (Annebel Klein Overmeen, Dennis Sikkenga, Ken Kemperman, Chiara van den Born & Lara Nuij) in 9 weeks. My task in the project was the planning, part of the animations, recording audio and partly editing the video.

DawnFord is a flash game I made in the first year of my study at HAN university of applied sciences, where I studied Communication and Multimedia design. The assignment was to make a point and click type of game to explore and practice frame by frame animation and coding in adobe animate. The concept of my game was an apocalypse world with zombies where the player needed to hunt to survive.
The illustrations and backgrounds for the game are digitally drawn in Clip Studio paint. The animation is the intro of a point and click game I made in adobe animate (flash).
